Transco Neon Sign Transformer Power Supply 4B12N3-02 195W 120V/12000V. Condition is "Used".
My first assumption when I hear from people looking for neon transformers is that they're wanting to build a Tesla Coil or Jacob's Ladder being that the sign industry is almost completely LED now. And that I've sold these transformers to five different hobbyists building these devices, one of them multiple times. I'll also assume you probably already know this is the kind of transformer you need, i.e. one without the ground fault reset switch and that they're getting harder to find?
I've tested this transformer and it still operates like new. It throws strong arcs from the electrodes and appears to have plenty of life left. I quickly tested some transformers a few years ago and just marked them "good" or "bad" to sort them as I was taking scrap to the recycle yard and gave them a quick assessment on a scale of 1-10 based on my judgement of how strong the arcs seemed to be from the electrodes. I re-tested several of them including this one yesterday I'd say it's just as easily a 10 as it is a 9.
I think it goes without saying that this can be a
VERY
dangerous device if it is misused or is handled improperly. Especially if you don't know the proper usage and procedure of this (or any other) electrical device. Buyer acknowledges that I am not in any way responsible for personal injuries, damage of property or deaths if item is mishandled.
