    Description

This auction is for a used vintage All American Dutch oven pressure cooker model No. 907. It holds 7 quarts of liquid. It is made of heavy aluminum and has a metal to metal seal which does not require a rubber seal. It has a bake lite handle, pressure gauge, relief valve, and a brass safety seal on the lid. The lid also has an arrow to align with the mark on the lower pot when closed. It has 4 bake lite wing nuts to tighten the lid. It measures 9-1/4" inside diameter x 6-1/4" inside height and weighs about 8 pounds.  It could be used for canning and will hold 3 quart jars or 4 pint jars. It comes with an inner rack which I think is original, but not sure. This canner does not come with instructions. Instructions can be found at the All American website.
This pressure cooker is in good used working condition. I tested for operation on a propane cooker by adding about 2" of water as if I were canning. There was a few drips around the safety seal and relief valve until pressure was built, which is normal. I heated until a steady stream of steam was emitted from all 4 ports of the relief valve and then closed the valve. The pressure gauge began to rise and reached over 20 pounds within a few minutes (picture shown of operation). I turned the heat down and operated for several minutes maintaining pressure at 20 pounds.  When closed, the relief valve is designed to release all excess steam at 20-24 psi pressure for safety. I have not tested the pressure gauge for accuracy and do not know if it is accurate (county extension offices usually will test gauges for free). This canner has many scratches, spots, water stains,  and handling wear throughout. It is darkened on the inside from use, but it feels smooth. The bottom exterior has wear, but it looks decent. The inner rack has some light rust, but it is in good usable condition. The bake lite handle is slightly loose at one screw, but functions well.  The wing nuts are in good condition. I have used an All American canner for many years (not this one) and they are top of the line in my opinion.
